Day 1: Airport to Sigiriya
On this day, we will drive to Sigiriya, which is the center for exploring the major Buddhist archaeological sites in Sri Lanka. En route, we visit the Dambulla, the beautiful cave temples perched at more than 100m above the main roads. In the late afternoon, we will climb the spectacular rock fortress of Sigiriya, which is one of the major tourist attractions in Sri Lanka.

Day 2: Sigiriya to Polonnaruwa
We will make our way to visit the second ancient capital of Sri Lanka, from the 10th to 13th centuries. There are some well-preserved, and amazing ruins and statues to take in. In the evening, we can have arrange an optional national park safari or relax at the hotel.

Day 3: Polonnaruwa to Kandy
Kandy is the first stop on this day, about 3 hours drive away. At 500 m above sea level, Kandy is the cultural capital of Sri Lanka. We go to the Temple of the Tooth, which houses the sacred tooth of Buddha. We will also enjoy a tour around Kandy, with its cool climate and bustling town centre. The National Museum and the shrines around Kandy are also places of interests we can visit. En route visit a herbal garden. In the evening, enjoy a cultural show featuring the various dances of Sri Lanka.

Day 4: Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
From Kandy, its another 3 hour journey to Nuwara Eliya. Situated at 1889 m, it used to be the summer resort of the British. It is a beautiful town set against the backdrops of English country-style houses, tea plantations and waterfalls. Cold climate, so layer up! Along the way, we will visit a tea plantation & tea factory.

Day 5: Nuwara Eliya to Ella
On this day we start from Nanu Oya Station to have a train trip up to Ella, which is a great experience. Ella is situated within the marvelous hill country of Sri Lanka the beautiful landscape of Ella and Bandarawela are definitely to be admired and enjoyed. At Ella Gap we have a wide view over the countryside. Around Ella hundreds of fantastic and breathtaking waterfalls can be visited. We'll enjoy the unique cuisine in the charming town of Ella.

Day 6: Nuwara Eliya to Yala National Park (in Thissamaharamaya)
On the day we start from Nanu Oya Station to take a scenic train trip up to Ella, a great experience, then en route to Yala, will stop at to see the waterfalls on the way.

Day 7: Thissamaharamaya to Mirissa or Hikkaduwa
The last morning we can search for wildlife and view men fishing the traditional way, on stilts. We'll drop you in Mirissa or Hikkaduwa (recommended beach towns) or other beach of your choice. Enjoy a day on the beach.

A free day on the beach. Optional activities in the area include whale watching or snorkeling tours, or a visit to a turtle sanctuary.

Day 9: Mirissa or Hikkaduwa to Galle
We arrive in this World Heritage historic colonial town. It is Sri Lanka's 4th biggest town and most historically interesting living town. We will visit the Galle Fort, several museums, and a Dutch Reformed Church.

Day 10: Galle to Airport
On the way to Colombo (airport) we will visit the turtle hatchery and cinnamon gardens, have a look around Colombo or Negombo and drop off at the airport.
